Metro Call-A-Ride resuming service after cyberattack disruption

ST. LOUIS - Metro Call-A-Ride is back up and operating after a cyberattack forced metro transit to cancel weekend rides.The cyberattack on Saturday morning prevented Metro from using their phones or connecting with passengers. That left customers to stand outside waiting for a ride that never arrived. Popular lights display relocates to Festus for Halloween season Trips previously reserved for Monday will be provided and Metro is now taking reservations for Tuesday and Wednesday. Metro Transit is also only able to accept cash at the ticket vending machines because of the network outage.

Missouri Botanical Garden celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day today

ST. LOUIS - It's Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to celebrate Native American history and culture.The Missouri Botanical Garden is hosting a series of educational activities on Monday. They'll have a speaker share stories that have been passed down in Native American families for generations. Popular lights display relocates to Festus for Halloween season At 2:00 p.m., there will be a screening of 'Gather,' a film looking at the growing movement among Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political, and cultural identities while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide. The first is at the Christian Activity Center in East St. Louis. Workers at Mack Trucks go on strike after rejecting tentative contract deal

DETROIT (AP) — Union workers at Mack Trucks went on strike Monday after voting down a tentative five-year contract agreement that negotiators had reached with the company. The United Auto Workers said 4,000 unionized workers walked out at 7 a.m., adding to labor turmoil in the industry that has ensnared all three big Detroit automakers. Union President Shawn Fain said in a letter to Mack parent company Volvo Trucks that 73% of workers voted against the deal in results counted on Sunday.The UAW represents Mack workers in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Florida. Union leaders had reached a tentative agreement on the deal on Oct. 1. The deal included a 19% pay raise over the life of the contract with 10% upon ratification.
