PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Scottie Scheffler, Corey Conners and Viktor Hovland, the co-leaders of the PGA Championship, have teed off in the third round at Oak Hill.A persistent rain that soaked the East Course has prevented the rest of the field from gaining much if any ground on Scheffler, Conners and Hovland, who began the day at 5 under. They have a two-shot lead on Bryson DeChambeau, with a group of four players next at 2 under. The second round closed with only nine players under par. When the twosome teed off, there were only 10 at 1 under or better.Rory McIlroy and Adam Svensson each opened with a pair of birdies on their first five holes to move to 2 under. Justin Rose, meantime, fell back to even for the tournament with a bogey 5 on two.Course officials have at times had to squeegee puddles of water that gathered on several fairways.___The third round of the PGA Championship is underway at soggy Oak Hill, where wet conditions await a trio of co-leaders when they tee off later S...El Manchester City logra el título de la Premier League tras otra derrota del Arsenal

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Dallas coach Pete DeBoer said he doesn’t want his team to make a habit of being in this situation, but the Stars have shown an amazing ability during the NHL playoffs to respond to early adversity.Including Friday night’s 4-3 defeat to the Vegas Golden Knights, the Stars have opened all three playoff series with an overtime loss. They came back to beat Minnesota in six games in the first round and then survived a seven-game endurance test to eliminate Seattle. And now the Stars are down 1-0 to the team that put together the Western Conference’s best regular-season record.“The good news is the other two ended the right way, so that’s what we hope for,” DeBoer said. “But you’ve got to win some overtime games, too, in the playoffs. You can’t go 0-for-3 or 0-for-4 in the playoffs in overtime, so that’s something that we’ve got to get fixed quickly.”Jason Robertson, who had a goal and an assist in the opener against the Knights, said being able to ...Man City’s treble bid up and running after winning English Premier League

Manchester City’s bid for a treble of major trophies is up and running. The first was secured on Saturday without City even playing as the team clinched a third successive English Premier League title — and a ninth top-flight crown in its 143-year history — thanks to another slip-up by second-placed Arsenal.Arsenal losing at Nottingham Forest 1-0 capped an end-of-season meltdown for the once long-time leader and left City with an unassailable four-point lead.City’s players will get their hands on the league trophy after their match against Chelsea on Sunday, but don’t expect the celebrations to last too long.Pep Guardiola’s squad has its sights on becoming just the second team to capture the Premier League-FA Cup-Champions League treble, and still has two finals to play. The FA Cup final against Manchester United is on June 3 at Wembley Stadium followed by a meeting with Inter Milan in the Champions League final on June 10.City is enjoying a period of domestic dominance rarely seen in...Arsenal stumbles in EPL title race to add to list of late-season collapses

There was no Kevin Keegan-style rant. There was no William Gallas-like post-match tantrum. There wasn’t anything that comes close to the drama of Steven Gerrard’s Anfield slip.Still, that won’t prevent Arsenal’s late-season stumble from going down in the annals of the English Premier League’s most memorable collapses, quite simply because of the level its players were performing at to get themselves in position to win the title in the first place.Only six top-flight teams in the history of English soccer have amassed more points by the halfway mark of the season than Arsenal’s haul of 50, based on three points for a win.And the Gunners didn’t stop there; they powered into an eight-point lead with nine games remaining thanks to a 4-1 thrashing of Leeds on April 1 that continued the team’s attractive and attacking style of play. Manchester City, then in second place, had a game in hand but even Pep Guardiola accepted there was nothing his team could do to stop Arsenal in this ki...Man dead, 2 hospitalized after drive-by shooting in Pompano Beach

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico City’s two main airports temporarily shut down operations on Saturday due to ash spewing from Popocatepetl volcano, located 45 miles (72 kilometers) southeast of the country’s capital. The city’s Benito Juarez International airport suspended operations at 04:25 a.m. local time. It resumed operations at 10:00 a.m., after removing volcanic ashes, checking the runways and verifying favorable wind conditions, the airport said on Twitter. The new Felipe Angeles airport, located north of Mexico City and operated by the military, shut down operations around 6 a.m., and service was suspended for five hours.Volcanic ashes are especially dangerous for aviation, not only because they reduce visibility but because they can act as an abrasive, damaging an aircraft’s wings and fuselage. The Popocatepetl rumbled to life again this week, belching out towering clouds of ash that forced 11 villages to cancel school sessions. The explosions registered in t...Latest news
